9-11 Tribute Bible Style

The seven year anniversary of the 9-11 attack is coming up soon. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was at work when it happened, in our morning staff meeting. Someone came in and said that America was under attack, it made us all just stop and think. I have television in my office, so a couple of us went in and turned on the news. I remember standing there speechless as I watched the planes fly through the world trade center.





I had no clue what was happening. I didn't understand who these radical muslim terrorists were. I didn't understand bible prophecy, or just about anything from the bible. I didn't have a clue what "end times" was.





What was happening in this world, what was happening to our country? Not too long after this all happened, Alan Jackson released his song, "Where were you", and he pretty much summed up what had happened and what we all needed to do. We all needed to turn to God, (who gave us faith, hope and love, and the greatest is love), turn to our parents, cling to our families and most importantly, dust off our bibles and search God's word.





I didn't join the millions who came to Jesus those first few weeks and months after 9-11. It took me some time, fact is it took Mel Gibson's "The Passion" to open my eyes, to be smacked over the head with a "spiritual frying pan" as I call it. March of 2004 I accepted Jesus as my Savior, and have never looked back.





So here is my tribute, from each book of the bible that has a chapter and verse 9:11. Nothing can give us comfort more that words from my Father in heaven. You will notice that not all of the 66 books are represented here, due to the length of the books. Only the books that had 9 chapters or more are here, which results in 37 of the 66 books.

Catholic Church Takes a Stance against Biden

Amen! I am glad the Archbishop decided to take a stance for life! Thank Jesus for those that stand up for God's word and God's children!

Irked by pro-choice Democrats who tout their Catholicism, the archbishop of Washington is chiding House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for misstating church history and the archbishop of Denver is warning vice presidential hopeful Joe Biden not to take Communion.

The unusual public rebukes come as both Pelosi and Biden are talking up their faith in a bid for swing voters as Democrats stage their national convention in Denver. In an interview Sunday, Pelosi claimed to be an expert on the church's abortion stance.

"As an ardent, practicing Catholic, this is an issue that I have studied for a long time," Pelosi told NBC's Tom Brokaw, who had asked her when life begins. "And what I know is, over the centuries, the doctors of the church have not been able to make that definition. And St. Augustine said at three months. We don't know."

When Brokaw pointed out that the Catholic church "feels very strongly" that life begins at conception, Pelosi said: "I understand. And this is like maybe 50 years or something like that. So again, over the history of the church, this is an issue of controversy."

In an interview with FOX News on Tuesday, Archbishop Donald Wuerl said people need to reflect more before they start talking about church doctrine. He also issued a statement calling Pelosi's explanation of the church's abortion stance "incorrect."

"The current teaching of the Catholic Church on human life and abortion is the same teaching as it was 2,000 years ago," Wuerl noted. "From the beginning, the Catholic Church has respected the dignity of all human life from the moment of conception to natural death."

Wuerl cited a passage from the church's catechism that condemns abortion as "gravely contrary to moral law."

"Since the first century the church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion," the catechism states. "This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable."

Biden disagreed, as evidenced by a 2006 interview he gave to C-SPAN, which asked him about abortion.

"That debate in our church has not morphed, but changed over a thousand years," Biden said. "It always is viewed by the church as something that is wrong, but there's been gradations of whether it was wrong. You know, from venial or mortal sin, as we Catholics say, and versions of it."

But Biden added that since Pope Pius IX's reign (1846-1878), "it's been pretty clear that's been automatic - moment of conception."

Over the weekend, Biden's pro-choice views raised the ire of Denver Archbishop Charles Chaput.

"I presume that his integrity will lead him to refrain from presenting himself for communion, if he supports a false 'right' to abortion," Chaput told The Associated Press.

As for Pelosi, Chaput called her "a gifted public servant of strong convictions and many professional skills. Regrettably, knowledge of Catholic history and teaching does not seem to be one of them."

Chaput added that abortion "is always gravely evil, and so are the evasions employed to justify it."During that 2004 presidential campaign, Chaput and a dozen other bishops called on Democratic nominee John Kerry to refrain from taking Communion. The church has also objected to former GOP presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani taking Communion.

"I think some of it is regional," said Pelosi, whose district encompasses San Francisco, in a recent interview with C-SPAN. "It depends on the bishop of a certain region and, fortunately for me, Communion has not been withheld and I'm a regular Communicant, so that would be a severe blow to me if that were the case."

On Saturday, when Obama introduced Biden as his running mate, both men made a point of mentioning Biden's Catholicism. Obama has struggled to win over Catholics, 52 percent of whom voted for President Bush in 2004.

First, I am glad that the President of South Korea favors Christians. What is upsetting is the rest of the country isn't, but worse yet is the fact that they protest Christians. We all need to pray for the people of this country. God loves all of us, but some people don't know that, yet.

NASA-like technology will allow the world to see and read the Dead Sea Scolls

The Israeli Antiquities Authority is working on a project that will allow scientists to use space age NASA-like technology to bring to light the faded scripts of thousands of fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the oldest existing record of the Old Testament.

The Dead Sea Scrolls, Israel's greatest archaeological find, were found in 1947 by a Bedwin shepherd boy near the ancient Jewish community of Kumran on the shores of the Dead Sea, a factor that actually helped preserve these ancient manuscripts.

This NASA-like technology will allow for the preservation of the entire collection of the Dead Sea Scrolls as well as the opportunity for scholars, religious leaders and any interested party to view these ancient manuscripts.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

With the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls and now with NASA-like technology being used to read these ancient manuscripts, the world can read the words of ancient Jewish prophets who prewrote human history which is being played out today.

Scientists and skeptics have for years complained about not being able to have access to the Dead Sea Scrolls. Israel's Antiquity Authority has put in place a five year project that will give all interested parties the opportunity to view all the Dead Sea Scrolls and study the message found in these ancient manuscripts. Uniquely, all the books of the Old Testament are a part of the collection of scrolls except the book of Esther and there are multiple copies of many of the prophetic books. These prophetic books layout God's plan for the Jewish people for the "last days".

Time will not allow me to recite all prophetic scenarios, but only two examples. For example, the scroll of Ezekiel speaks of an "end time" regathering of the Jewish people to the land of their forefathers, Ezekiel 34-37. Jeremiah's scroll speaks of a terrible time in the future for the Jews, but promises that God will deliver the Jews from the "Time of Jacob's Trouble", Jeremiah 30-33.The Dead Sea Scrolls are tangible evidence of Bible prophecy.

Change

Change is on it's way and it's not from Senators Obama and Biden. Obama's whole campaign was about change, and he picks a old used up has been senator that's been in the senate since Nixon was president. He's enacted a lot of change, higher taxes, liberal anti-Christian views and laws.

Now, the real change is this; Senator McCain's choice for Vice President. Governor Sarah Pilan. Now that's change. She's Christian, married mother of 5, pro life, fiscal conservative, a hunter, member of the NRA. She's exactly what this country needs. Thank God for Governor Pilan and thank God for Senator McCain choosing her!

Change will come. Let's pay less taxes, fight for the right of the innocent babies, cut costs, fight corruption and most importantly PUT GOD FIRST AGAIN!

Same old Same old

Yes, last week was the Democratic National Convention, and it was nothing but the same old rhetoric that we have heard for years.

1. Raise taxes to spur the economy (this we know is false, take more money from people and they spend less, government cannot handle money, that's why there is a deficit).

2 Democrats had a surplus - okay, they have re-written history and are saying there was a surplus during the Clinton years. I guess Monica Lewinsky was just a mirage in the desert too.

3. Privatize social security - a great idea that democrats hate. The reason they hate it? It's not the ability of citizen's taking 10% of their money and investing in safe accounts (bond or money market funds, similar to 401K's), it's the fact that the Republicans wanted to put a stop to congress raiding social security when there's a surplus. In other words, Democrats would not be able to take the money and use it to support another FAILED DEMOCRATIC SOCIAL POLICY.

4. Everything under the sun that is bad is the fault of President Bush. Had a tornado last spring? It's his fault. Drought? President Bush's fault again.

5. They hate law abiding, Christian conservatives. America is a mean country, we should be punished. Yes, Sean Hannity was right, the theme of the DNC was "America is a mean country."

6. They love terrorists and hate American citizens.

7. They lie, like rugs and then some.

8. They keep telling us about the failed Bush policies, but cannot tell us which ones.

9. Of course our President is not a dictator, most of the current senators and congresspeople voted to go to war based on the same information that the President had.

10. Democrats are war mongers, see #9.

Mark my words, if Obama gets in this is what you will hear "We underestimated the damage that the Bush administration did to our economy and have to change our stance on re-energizing it. Therefore, our original estimates of raising taxes on those making $250, 000 or more are wrong. In order to get our economy back to where it was under the Clinton administration we will have to raise taxes on those making $35, 000 a year and more. It is our patriotic duty to help get our economy back on top." Remember, there are no blue states, there are no red states, there's just the United Taxed States of America.

School Shooting

It's really sad, the amount of school shootings that we see year after year. No, I don't believe in gun control, that's not the root cause. To get to the cause, we must go through the parents. Are the parents raising their children the way God intended for us to? Are these children exposed to the Gospel, versus evil? Did we get them in programs through a Spirit filled church such as AWANA, Sunday School, children's church, youth groups? Why are these things happening in our schools? Back in the 1970's when I was in grade school, we started the day with the Pledge of Allegiance. Yes, One Nation Under God. The democrats and liberals got their way and kicked God out of the schools, and here we are, another tragedy.

Pastor's Wife Being Sued

I am not sure if Mrs. Osteen is guilty or innocent, either way it doesn't matter. What matters is this; if she is guilty of basically being rude, then she should ask for forgiveness and double check where her heart is, and who is dwelling in her heart. Things like this will not happen if the Holy Spirit is dwelling in your heart. Next thing is this, no matter what your ministry is, as a Christian, one should never behave this way. We are supposed to be the light of the world to people, for Jesus. Would Jesus act this way? Nope, He got on his hands and knees and washed His Disciples feet. Jesus' leadership taught us that we are to be Servant Leaders.

Now, on the other hand, if Mrs. Osteen did not do any wrong, then her accuser should apologize and ask for forgiveness. Maybe this is the perfect opportunity for Mrs. Osteen to reach out to this lady with the Gospel.

Lastly, this seems to be more about collecting money from the Osteens than it is about bringing a potential bad behavior to light.

May Jesus help both sides learn from this.

Annointed With Oil

In a previous blog entry, I had written about the possibility of the seals being broken in our lifetime, pre-rapture. This is out of Revelation 6-7. After reading this article by the Reverend James C. Matthews, it may be possible. In the breaking of the 3rd seal, it is written "Do not damage the oil or the wine." The article by Reverend Matthews talks about how oil represents the annointing of God's people, those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior. It makes for interesting reading, provokes thought and I hope it encourages you to read and study the bible more.

Underestimating Your AnointingRev. James C. Matthews

"Now a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, "Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD; and the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves." Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?" And she said, "Your maidservant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil" (2 Kings 4:1-2).

In meditating on this scripture, I believe the man of God knew that this widow had something in her house more valuable than what she was looking to receive from him. The only problem was - she didn't know it!

Throughout the Bible oil is representative of anointing. It represents the presence and power of the Holy Spirit upon a person or vessel. The Bible says that her husband served the man of God and feared the Lord. This was an anointed man. For years an anointing rested in their home. The man of God knew as long as there was anointing in the house everything she needed was likewise in the house. She was looking for money when God had given her something greater - an anointing. Money is the least of God's blessings. As long as our focus is on money we will miss out on what God, through His anointing, can do in our lives. As a matter of fact, the anointing will cause money to show up when it is activated in a situation. When we begin to operate in our anointing, we have God's presence and power accompanying our efforts. With God all things are possible.

Every Believer is anointed and carries within them the very same Holy Spirit Jesus Christ (The Anointed One) had upon Him. Like the jar of oil that sat on the widow's shelf overlooked and underestimated, many of us have done the same thing to the anointing that is present in our lives. We turn to people and other tangible things for answers, when God has already placed the answer within us, in the form of His Holy Spirit. The Bible describes the Holy Spirit as a Comforter, Guide, Teacher and Revealer. He has the answer to what perplexes us. In many cases, we don't need more money, or other tangible surrogate, we need revelation of our situation. We need discernment, enlightenment and direction to make a right decision. If we were to give the Holy Spirit free course in our lives, He would show us the abundance that God has already placed within us, but has thus far gone overlooked and underestimated.

The Holy Spirit wants to give you life in ever respect of the word. If there is anything dead, unfruitful or dying in our lives, we must give the Holy Spirit access to it, so that He can breathe upon it the breadth of life. The anointing, representing the presence of the Holy Spirit, was given so that we could experience life to its fullest. He can out produce anything, anyone or any system anywhere. However we must trust Him!

Never underestimate your anointing. It is God's most precious provision for us to prosper in our lives. It is the anointing that breaks the yoke of bondage and causes us to overcome our situations - whatever our situations may be!

"And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing" (Isaiah 10:27).

More stories about wild animals attacking, but this time it was a family pet. But the strange thing is this; the lion entered a home to get the dog. This is strange because there is plenty of food sources out in the wild for the lion, it didn't need to come into the home.

U.S. Intel: Iran Plans Nuclear Strike on U.S.

Iran has carried out missile tests for what could be a plan for a nuclear strike on the United States, the head of a national security panel has warned.
In testimony before the House Armed Services Committee and in remarks to a private conference on missile defense over the weekend hosted by the Claremont Institute, Dr. William Graham warned that the U.S. intelligence community “doesn’t have a story” to explain the recent Iranian tests.
One group of tests that troubled Graham, the former White House science adviser under President Ronald Reagan, were successful efforts to launch a Scud missile from a platform in the Caspian Sea.
“They’ve got [test] ranges in Iran which are more than long enough to handle Scud launches and even Shahab-3 launches,” Dr. Graham said. “Why would they be launching from the surface of the Caspian Sea? They obviously have not explained that to us.”
Another troubling group of tests involved Shahab-3 launches where the Iranians "detonated the warhead near apogee, not over the target area where the thing would eventually land, but at altitude,” Graham said. “Why would they do that?”
Graham chairs the Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack, a blue-ribbon panel established by Congress in 2001.
The commission examined the Iranian tests “and without too much effort connected the dots,” even though the U.S. intelligence community previously had failed to do so, Graham said.
“The only plausible explanation we can find is that the Iranians are figuring out how to launch a missile from a ship and get it up to altitude and then detonate it,” he said. “And that’s exactly what you would do if you had a nuclear weapon on a Scud or a Shahab-3 or other missile, and you wanted to explode it over the United States.”
The commission warned in a report issued in April that the United States was at risk of a sneak nuclear attack by a rogue nation or a terrorist group designed to take out our nation’s critical infrastructure.
"If even a crude nuclear weapon were detonated anywhere between 40 kilometers to 400 kilometers above the earth, in a split-second it would generate an electro-magnetic pulse [EMP] that would cripple military and civilian communications, power, transportation, water, food, and other infrastructure," the report warned.
While not causing immediate civilian casualties, the near-term impact on U.S. society would dwarf the damage of a direct nuclear strike on a U.S. city.
“The first indication [of such an attack] would be that the power would go out, and some, but not all, the telecommunications would go out. We would not physically feel anything in our bodies,” Graham said.
As electric power, water and gas delivery systems failed, there would be “truly massive traffic jams,” Graham added, since modern automobiles and signaling systems all depend on sophisticated electronics that would be disabled by the EMP wave.
“So you would be walking. You wouldn’t be driving at that point,” Graham said. “And it wouldn’t do any good to call the maintenance or repair people because they wouldn’t be able to get there, even if you could get through to them.”
The food distribution system also would grind to a halt as cold-storage warehouses stockpiling perishables went offline. Even warehouses equipped with backup diesel generators would fail, because “we wouldn’t be able to pump the fuel into the trucks and get the trucks to the warehouses,” Graham said.
The United States “would quickly revert to an early 19th century type of country.” except that we would have 10 times as many people with ten times fewer resources, he said.
“Most of the things we depend upon would be gone, and we would literally be depending on our own assets and those we could reach by walking to them,” Graham said.
America would begin to resemble the 2002 TV series, “Jeremiah,” which depicts a world bereft of law, infrastructure, and memory.
In the TV series, an unspecified virus wipes out the entire adult population of the planet. In an EMP attack, the casualties would be caused by our almost total dependence on technology for everything from food and water, to hospital care.
Within a week or two of the attack, people would start dying, Graham says.
“People in hospitals would be dying faster than that, because they depend on power to stay alive. But then it would go to water, food, civil authority, emergency services. And we would end up with a country with many, many people not surviving the event.”
Asked just how many Americans would die if Iran were to launch the EMP attack it appears to be preparing, Graham gave a chilling reply.
“You have to go back into the 1800s to look at the size of population” that could survive in a nation deprived of mechanized agriculture, transportation, power, water, and communication.
“I’d have to say that 70 to 90 percent of the population would not be sustainable after this kind of attack,” he said.
America would be reduced to a core of around 30 million people — about the number that existed in the decades after America’s independence from Great Britain.
The modern electronic economy would shut down, and America would most likely revert to “an earlier economy based on barter,” the EMP commission’s report on Critical National Infrastructure concluded earlier this year.
In his recent congressional testimony, Graham revealed that Iranian military journals, translated by the CIA at his commission’s request, “explicitly discuss a nuclear EMP attack that would gravely harm the United States.”
Furthermore, if Iran launched its attack from a cargo ship plying the commercial sea lanes off the East coast — a scenario that appears to have been tested during the Caspian Sea tests — U.S. investigators might never determine who was behind the attack. Because of the limits of nuclear forensic technology, it could take months. And to disguise their traces, the Iranians could simply decide to sink the ship that had been used to launch it, Graham said.
Several participants in last weekend’s conference in Dearborn, Mich., hosted by the conservative Claremont Institute argued that Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was thinking about an EMP attack when he opined that “a world without America is conceivable.”
In May 2007, then Undersecretary of State John Rood told Congress that the U.S. intelligence community estimates that Iran could develop an ICBM capable of hitting the continental United States by 2015.
But Iran could put a Scud missile on board a cargo ship and launch from the commercial sea lanes off America’s coasts well before then.
The only thing Iran is lacking for an effective EMP attack is a nuclear warhead, and no one knows with any certainty when that will occur. The latest U.S. intelligence estimate states that Iran could acquire the fissile material for a nuclear weapon as early as 2009, or as late as 2015, or possibly later.
Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld first detailed the “Scud-in-a-bucket” threat during a briefing in Huntsville, Ala., on Aug. 18, 2004.
While not explicitly naming Iran, Rumsfeld revealed that “one of the nations in the Middle East had launched a ballistic missile from a cargo vessel. They had taken a short-range, probably Scud missile, put it on a transporter-erector launcher, lowered it in, taken the vessel out into the water, peeled back the top, erected it, fired it, lowered it, and covered it up. And the ship that they used was using a radar and electronic equipment that was no different than 50, 60, 100 other ships operating in the immediate area.”
Iran’s first test of a ship-launched Scud missile occurred in spring 1998, and was mentioned several months later in veiled terms by the Commission to Assess the Ballistic Missile Threat to the United States, a blue-ribbon panel also known as the Rumsfeld Commission.
I was the first reporter to mention the Iran sea-launched missile test in an article appearing in the Washington Times in May 1999.
Intelligence reports on the launch were “well known to the White House but have not been disseminated to the appropriate congressional committees,” I wrote. Such a missile “could be used in a devastating stealth attack against the United States or Israel for which the United States has no known or planned defense.”
Few experts believe that Iran can be deterred from launching such an attack by the threat of massive retaliation against Iran. They point to a December 2001 statement by former Iranian President Ali Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani, who mulled the possibility of Israeli retaliation after an Iranian nuclear strike.
“The use of an atomic bomb against Israel would destroy Israel completely, while [the same] against the Islamic only would cause damages. Such a scenario is not inconceivable,” Rafsanjani said at the time.
Rep. Trent Franks, R, Ariz., plans to introduce legislation next week that would require the Pentagon to lay the groundwork for an eventual military strike against Iran, to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and EMP capability.
“An EMP attack on America would send us back to the horse and buggy era — without the horse and buggy,” he told the Claremont Institute conference on Saturday. “If you’re a terrorist, this is your ultimate goal, your ultimate asymmetric weapon.”
Noting Iran’s recent sea-launched and mid-flight warhead detonation tests, Rep. Franks concluded, “They could do it — either directly or anonymously by putting some freighter out there on the ocean.”
The only possible deterrent against Iran is the prospect of failure, Dr. Graham and other experts agreed. And the only way the United States could credibly threaten an Iranian missile strike would be to deploy effective national missile defenses.
“It’s well known that people don’t go on a diet until they’ve had a heart attack,” said Claremont Institute president Brian T. Kennedy. “And we as a nation are having a heart attack” when it comes to the threat of an EMP attack from Iran.
“As of today, we have no defense against such an attack. We need space-based missile defenses to protect against an EMP attack,” he told Newsmax.
Rep. Franks said he remains surprised at how partisan the subject of space-based missile defenses remain. “Nuclear missiles don’t discriminate on party lines when they land,” he said.
Arizona Republican Sen. Jon Kyl, a long-standing champion of missile defense, told the Claremont conference on Friday that Sen. Obama has opposed missile defense tooth and nail and as president would cut funding for these programs dramatically.
“Senator Obama has been quoted as saying, ‘I don’t agree with a missile defense system,’ and that we can cut $10 billion of the research out — never mind, as I say, that the entire budget is $9.6 billion, or $9.3 billion,” Kyl said.
Like Franks, Kyl believes that the only way to eventually deter Iran from launching an EMP attack on the United States is to deploy robust missile defense systems, including space-based interceptors.
The United States “needs a missile defense that is so strong, in all the different phases we need to defend against . . . that countries will decide it’s not worth coming up against us,” Kyl said.
“That’s one of the things that defeated the Soviet Union. That’s one of the ways we can deal with these rogue states . . . and also the way that we can keep countries that are not enemies today, but are potential enemies, from developing capabilities to challenge us. “

Senator Obama

So, Senator Obama, the supposed Democratic nominee for President goes on a whirlwind tour of the Middle East and Europe. The "Obama Mania World Tour 2008". His obsession with trying to make himself and his campaign look like the second coming of the Beatle Invasion is getting kind of old. At least I didn't see any Germans or Israelites fainting in the audience this weekend.

Another thing that strikes me as odd. He is RUNNING for President, he is not the president, at least not yet. So why is he trying to gain international support? Why is he meeting with international leaders (some, Germany's leadership refused to meet with him)? Is it because there is something larger here that we don't know (see my previous entries on end times events)? Or is it just a simple case of arrogance on the part of Senator Obama? Time will tell, but I believe he is heading us for disaster as a nation. I believe that he wants us to be under the control of the United Nations, or at least under a world wide government, possibly to be one of the 10 leaders that answer to the anti-Christ.

No matter what he has in store for us, it will not be good. For example, a civilian national security force that has the budget and capabilities of our current military (that's another $4.39 billion per year by the way). What is this for and why is it needed? If he is concerned with securing our nation, let's beef up our current military, give the 50 states more latitude and financial help if necessary to increase the number of state police, county police and city police officers. Why have a separate security force? Is he wanting to create a Revolutionary Guard (See Iran) for his administration? Does he want his own Hitler style SS? Who knows, but this man is scary.

Israel Attack?

I am not sure if this article is legitimate or if they are telling the truth. It is very possible that Israel is getting ready to attack Iran's nuclear facilities. How come there are no celebrities holding telethons raising money for Iowa?

None of these things will happen. People in the midwest don't declare that certain cities are black, white or any other race. They are midwestern cities in the USA. We stand together, white, black, Indian, oriental, hispanic, etc.

No, it's not the federal governments fault this happened. No President Bush did not cause this. No Spike Lee won't waste his time here, neither will Sean Penn or the Dixie Chicks. We did get football star Dallas Clark to come here to help. Rock bands like REO Speedwagon and The Little River Band volunteered time to help raise funds to help.

For the most part, midwesterners pull themselves up by their own boot straps, help each other, dig in and get the task done, not matter how tough the task is.

People in this part of the country depend on God, not government. Why? Because government is made up of people, mostly politicians that tell us what we want to hear, but usually don't deliver. People in the midwest know that God always will deliver you. You may go through trials and tribulations, but when you put your Faith, Hope and Trust in God.

HE GETS ER DONE!

Why won't Hollywood show up in a place like Iowa? Because they would be told something like this:

An inter-office governmental committee reviewing seismographic assessments by the Geophysical Institute of Israel (GII) concluded recently that a large earthquake might hit northern Israel in the near future.

Following the report, Health Ministry Director-General Prof. Avi Yisraeli ordered hospitals in the north to implement the necessary procedures in order to be able to handle a mass casualty event.

In a letter sent to the northern medical facilities on Monday, Prof. Yisraeli wrote, "Since mid February 2008, abnormal seismic activity has been noted in southern Lebanon, which had suffered some 500 minor earthquakes measuring a little over magnitude-2 on the Richter Scale, in a three-month period.

"Over the month of May, the tremors have become more intense and were felt in northern Israel as well. Data revealed by the Geophysical Institute of Israel have shown the probability of a massive earthquake - to the magnitude of up to 6 on the Richter Scale - originating in Lebanon and being felt in Israel, has become higher.

"The inter-office governmental committee believes that should an earthquake of such magnitude hit northern Israel it may cause substantial infrastructural damage in the area."

In view of the assessments, added Prof. Yisraeli, "All medical facilities and organizations must do everything they can to enhance the level of readiness; in order to minimize the damages caused by such an event and provide those in need with the best medical care possible."

The letter concluded with Prof. Yisraeli ordering all medical facilities in northern Israel to complete all the logistical updates they deem necessary, as soon as they can.

A series of mild tremors, ranging between 3.3 and 3.9 in magnitude, were felt in northern Israel in mid June, causing no injuries or damage. The quake was traced back to Lebanon

GII Director Rami Hofstetter told Ynet that "although such earthquakes are considered low-to-medium in intensity, they are still powerful enough to be felt throughout the northern communities adjacent to the Lebanese border."

Oil Update

Currently oil is hovering above the $140/barrel mark. OPEC has recently said that they expect it to hit $170 later this year. My belief is this, OPEC and the Islamic nations that control the oil are performing a terror attack on the US and world by doing this. Yes, I believe that this is an economic terror attack on us. NEW YORK (AP) -- The price of crude oil hit yet another record on the last day of a tumultuous first half, spurting past $143 a barrel before ending lower on demand fears and a resilient dollar. Crude has shot up nearly 50 percent since the start of the year, in large part on the dollar's troubles, and analysts expect that trend to remain intact as the second half of 2008 begins.

A government report lowering oil and gasoline demand estimates and a dollar hanging tough nullified investor concerns over supply, a fragile global economy and continued tensions in the Middle East.

"What this shows is that demand destruction in the U.S. is a lot larger than previously thought," said Phil Flynn, an energy analyst at Alaron Trading Corp. in Chicago. "There are more signs that demand is deteriorating."

Light, sweet crude for August delivery lost 21 cents to settle at $140.00 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. In early electronic trading, the contract hit a record $143.67.
The Energy Information Administration reported that oil usage in April was lower than previously estimated, falling to 4.2 percent to 19.768 million barrels per day from 20.631 million. That was 3.9 percent lower than in April 2007 and the lowest level for the month in six years.
The price of oil, which began 2008 at $96 a barrel, has risen in part on expectations of higher demand in China and other developing nations. But its almost relentless advance has also forced consumers and businesses to cut back the amount of gas and oil they use; it is also posing a threat to U.S. economic growth that could further slice into demand.

A hardier dollar also sent oil prices lower on Monday. Often, oil futures are used as a hedge against a weaker dollar.

"A lot of the momentum from late last week was the expectation we would continue to see a weaker U.S. dollar. When that didn't materialize, we had some profit-taking," said James Cordier, president of Tampa, Fla.-based trading firms Liberty Trading Group and OptionSellers.com.

The dollar rose against the 15-nation euro after the Chicago Purchasing Managers' index came in better than expected. The index for June rose to 49.6 from 49.1 in May, topping estimates of 49.1. The report is seen as a precursor for the national Institute for Supply Management report, to be released Tuesday.

But there was little expectation in the market that Monday's trading was the start of a turnaround in the dollar that would send oil falling much further. The dollar has weakened on expectations the Federal Reserve Board won't soon raise interest rates as the U.S. economy struggles with low growth. The Fed left its benchmark rate unchanged last week.
European Central Bank "President Jean-Claude Trichet's hawkish stance (on) inflation" could mean the dollar may be headed for further weakness against the euro "and that's not bearish for oil," said The Schork Report edited by U.S. analyst and trader Stephen Schork. When other countries raise their interest rates, they are more competitive with U.S. rates, and that weakens the dollar.

"If the Federal Reserve is powerless to raise interest rates because the economy continues to be soft, then we'll see low interest rates push oil higher," Flynn said.

Meanwhile, retail gasoline, which has been tracking oil higher, reached a new national average of $4.086 a gallon, according to a survey of stations by AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express. The previous record of $4.08 was reached June 16; since then, oil has moved past $140 and been setting new records of its own.

Gasoline's surge higher has clearly affected consumer spending in the U.S. The concern is that the inflationary effects of higher oil and gas will force consumers to cut back their spending on non-essentials further in the months ahead.

Geopolitical tensions, particularly surrounding Iran, also continue to boost oil prices. Traders were digesting reported comments from the commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, who warned that if his country is attacked, Tehran would strike back by barraging Israel with missiles. In a report published Saturday in the conservative Jam-e-Jam newspaper, Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari said that if Iran were provoked, it would also move to control a key oil passageway in the Gulf.

Iran is the world's fourth-largest oil exporter and about 60 percent of the world's oil passes through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Global supply also remains a concern. The Iraqi government opened six oil fields to international bidding Monday as the nation attempts to boost daily production by 60 percent.
The potential participation of big Western companies like BP PLC, Chevron Corp., Exxon Mobil Corp., Royal Dutch Shell PLC and Total SA in Iraq's oil industry has been criticized in recent weeks following published reports that several were close to signing no-bid contracts with the Iraqi government.

Those contracts were expected to be announced Monday, but Iraqi Oil Minister Hussain al-Shahristani instead named 35 companies that would be qualified to bid on service contracts for the oil fields of Rumeila, Zubair, Qurna West, Maysan, Kirkuk and Bay Hassan.
In other Nymex trading, heating oil futures slipped less than a cent to settle at $3.9029 a gallon while gasoline prices rose less than a penny to $3.5015 a gallon. Natural gas futures increased 15.5 cents to end at $13.353 per 1,000 cubic feet.

In London, Brent crude futures lost 48 cents to settle at $139.83 a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange in London. Earlier Monday, the price for Brent had peaked at $143.91.

This scenario that I have just described will bring about a universal confrontation in the future as we draw close to the time when Jesus Christ will come to earth to establish His kingdom, a physical kingdom in our world that will be headquartered in the Middle East from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

The ancient Jewish prophets, especially Daniel and Ezekiel, speak about the Lord's kingdom that will be established and will be in existence forever, that's Daniel 7:13-14. Ezekiel wrote of the temple that will be located in Jerusalem that Jesus will build and as Messiah it will be His seat of authority and He will establish His earthly kingdom, His universal kingdom, from that spot, that's Ezekiel 40-46 with special attention on Ezekiel 43:1-7.

General Eisenhower witnessed this and was right on the money when he demanded that pictures be taken of the Jewish people that endured the torture of the demon-possessed Hitler and his evil Nazi regime. There was an article in the Wall Street Journal on Cindy McCain, John's wife. All I ever saw was this attractive woman standing beside John. I was surprised how talented and involved with world problems she is. This is a summary of the article.

She graduated from Southern Cal and was a special-needs teacher.After her Dad died she became involved with his beer distributing firm and Is now the chairwoman. Sales have doubled since she has taken over from her father.

They have a marriage prenuptial agreement, her assets remain separate. She is involved around the world clearing land mines - travels to these countries on a detonation team and service on their board.

They have a 19 year old serving in Iraq , another son in the Naval Academy , a daughter recently graduated from Columbia Univ. , an adopted daughter in high school, and a son who is the finance guy at the beer firm.

Raised kids in Phoenix , Az rather than Washington DC.(better atmosphere) He commuted.

In 1991, Mrs. McCain came across a girl in an orphanage in Bangladesh . Mother Teresa implored Mrs. McCain to take the baby with severe cleft palate. She did so without first telling her husband. The couple adopted the girl who has had a dozen operations to repair her cleft palate and other medical problems.

They have a Family Foundation for children's causes.

She's active with 'Halo Trust' - to clear land mines, provide water and food in war ravaged and developing countries.

She will join an overseas mission of 'Operation Smile', a charity for corrective surgery on children's faces.

She has had two back surgeries and became addicted to pain killers. She talks openly about it which she says is part of the recovery process.

I'm surprised the media is so quiet about her attributes. She sounds more capable than Hillary or Obama. We would really get two for the price of one. A person with business and international experience. John did work for the firm for awhile when he left the Navy. She, however, has the real business experience. Very interesting.

Senator Obama's Father's Day Speech

Again, I have to say that my support during this election year is for Senator McCain and for conservatives. Anyone that supports abortion, higher taxes and anything anti-Christian, such as gay marriages, I cannot vote for.

That leads me to just mention a very interesting quote from Senator Obama, who is pro choice. Senator Obama gave a Father's Day speech at Apostolic Church of God in Chicago on 6-15-08. He is stressing the fact that the family unit is important, each family needs a good loving, nurturing mother and father. Yes, I totally agree, because that's how God designed it to be.

The problem that I have is Senator Obama's hypocrisy. He claims to be pro-choice, but he made a statement in his speech that I totally agree with, and aligns with my stance on abortion. A child begins life at conception. Yes he said it. Here is the quote; "But we also need families to raise our children. We need father's to to realize that responsibility does not end at conception. We need them to realize that what makes you a man is not the ability to have a child, it's the ability to raise one."

Wow, I agree with that. I agree that a child begins at conception and that's where our fatherhood and motherhood begins. Now, since you had this talk Senator Obama, please put your money where your mouth is and stand up for the rights of the children yet to be born! Ban abortion, push to have Roe Vs. Wade rescinded and make it permanent.

Oil, Food and Weather update

Wow, it's been a couple of weeks since my last posting and there has been so much that has happened. The weather is unreal, floods are all over the Midwest, especially Iowa and Wisconsin. The worst flooding in 500 years some say. Droughts are covering the southeast and west. Crops are being ruined every minute that they are covered in water, and grain prices are getting higher. As more crops are ruined in the Midwest, watch the price of corn, wheat and soybeans sky rocket. How much money will the left wing liberals pay for a soy lattee in California within 6 months? Food prices keep skyrocketing. Oil prices keep going up and down and back up again. Gas prices are going higher and higher.

So what is all of this? What's happening with weather all over the U.S.? Does the decision by the federal judge in California have anything to do with this? Let's ponder on these things a little.

When did this decision happen? May 15, 2008. Sadly, the day Israel celebrated it's 60th anniversary of returning home, the state of California decided to allow gay marriages, at least 1 judge has allowed this. Should we rename the state to "Lack of Morality"?

Since this date, the Midwest has been getting nailed with tornadoes, floods, bad thunderstorms. Even Greeley Colorado had a tornado. Northern California had a tornado and southern California got snow. There's droughts in the southeast and west, snow in June in the mountains of Washington and Montana. What's next? Again, we must repent and change our ways in this nation.

New Tribe of people discoverd!

I am not sure if everyone understands the importance of this news headline or not, but I sure do. It has biblical significance; Jesus said that the His word would be preached to all nations. In fact, the King James version states it this way:

Matthew 28: 18-19 "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heave and earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."

Obviously there is a lot of work to be done. This tribe will have to be reached, which can take some time, patience and a lot of prayer. It may be quick though, you never know what God can accomplish, He surprises us each day with miracles.

This is just another step closer in finding lost people. It's another chance to reach the lost people with the gospel, no matter how long it may take. What Jesus says in Matthew 28 will come true.

Once in awhile it's nice just to put in a few links to websites that have information pertaining to our political process, Christian views or missionary news, or just news that backs up what the bible tells us.

First article of discussion is what has happened in California. The California people voted against allowing gay marriages, but recently a judge in California has overturned this and beginning June 17, 2008; that state will allow gay marriages. First thing I have to say is it is an abomination, that is clear in the bible. Second comment is this, since when can a judge overturn something that the people voted on? What if it was just the opposite, and the people voted to allow gay marriages, but the judge overturned that vote and made it illegal? You would have every liberal organization from the ACLU to Hamas crying foul.

Now New York is following suit. May God have mercy on this nation!

Next on my list is McClellan. It does not surprise me that he has turned on the President, but why? Is it because President Bush is a Christian? Is it for the money? What drives people to turn on their co-workers, friends and family? I haven't read the book, won't read it but I will pray for McClellan, President Bush and his family, friends and staff. We are entering into an age that is extremely fascinating, but yet very scary. This is just the first wave of those that will turn on President Bush. We all will face this sooner or later. Jesus told us in the gospels that we all will face some type of persecution. The persecutions of President Bush have been going on for awhile now, but will soon escalate to gigantic proportions because of the potential for political gain and financial gain for some.
